Group Stays Games & Sports

On-Site Activities

Arura Group Stays is situated on about 3 hectares (7 acres) of land and has a large grassed area enclosed by buildings on 3 sides. This is suitable for all kinds of ball games. With no overhead power lines, kite flying can be enjoyed along with many other activities.

In fact the area is so large you could almost fit a soccer pitch in there.

There is also a large activities/recreation shed with space for indoor sports such as volleyball, badminton and table tennis, making it ideal in very hot or cold, rainy weather.

On the outside, next to the activities shed is a basketball/tennis court which can be used both day and night.

So with all that space what more could you want…well we have plenty of land surrounding the buildings with trees. It’s a great place for chasey, hide-n-seek and we’ve even had laser tag on our grounds.

Games and Sports in the area

Just near Arura Group Stays is the Port Hughes Golf Course. Open to everyone, the Copperclub is a Greg Norman designed and built course. Maintained to championship standards the course is recognised as having some of the best fairways and greens in South Australia. Play 9 or 18 holes – the choice is yours.

However if you need more activities you’ll find the Port Hughes beach and jetty just 5 minutes down the road from Arura Group Stays. A comfortable short walk on a specific track easily gets you there.

You can enjoy the beach on our walking trails, if you have bikes you can ride to Moonta, try fishing off the local Port Hughes jetty or boating with a modern boat ramp. There’s playgrounds at the foreshore so you’re never short of great activities in the area.

A little further you can explore the Copper Coast including Kadina and Wallaroo.
