Camp and Room Safety
At Arura your safety is important! Our staff will liaise with group leaders on arrival to ensure that all guests are aware of the building evacuation procedure and the location of the evacuation assembly point.
Our centre is equipped with the latest fire alarm system which is fully monitored by metropolitan fire service on a 24 hour basis. In the event of fire, alarms will ring in all rooms and areas, and loudspeakers will ask for the building to be vacated. All rooms have door closers to contain fire in the event of fire breaking out. Building exit signs indicate exit doors and have battery back-up in the event that mains power is cut. Fire extinguishers and fire hoses are located in all buildings and are regularly checked and serviced. A fire blanket is located in the kitchen.
All buildings and external eating areas are non smoking.
Responsible use of bunk beds is essential, and young children should be supervised in bedrooms at all times.
